It’s easy to always talk and be full of talks.

But you see when it comes to getting results and be able to stand by your results.

You need to do more than just talks.

You need to work and work and work and make sure you make what you are doing work. 

And in a moment, I will tell you what led to that this morning. 

But I observed something since like one week ago.

I observed I have not been getting replies to my emails again.

And heck, I observed the lady that always sends me thanks also stop sending replies.

Buh I didn’t pay full attention to it because shit happens.

But just yesterday, she came into my DM (the lady that always sends me Thanks)

She complained of not being able to reply to my emails.

She said it always bounces back and I was surprised.

Because truth be told, I am not techy but I set up everything by myself.

So I have been trying to troubleshoot it since that time.

But it’s all futile.

So I wanted to ask you two things…

Have you been having this same problem i.e trying to reply to my emails and it’s bouncing back?

That said, yesterday…

I was trying to sleep in the afternoon around 2 pm.

That was when this call entered.

I cursed the caller inwardly because it has no name.

But I picked up and it turned out to be a prospective client.

And should in case you don’t know, most of these prospective clients are always preframed before they got to me.

And this guy isn’t an exception, he saw me in a Telegram group and approached me saying he heard about me from Tamilore bla bla.

I kept my cool and he kept blabbering about how he loves my works and others. 

In fact, he was closing all the objections himself without me saying shit.

There was a point where he said…

“I have worked with freelancers before, and when something goes wrong with the campaign…

They will claim they have done their work and the problem is from another person in the team.

But I know you are not like that because Tamilore endorses you”

So you see why I said they are preframed?

Good.

Later, he talked about his project too which is a sales letter, Facebook ad copy and 7 email sequences. 

But the first mistake I made was undercharging him.

Yes, I charged him $1000 for the whole project.

Something that I was supposed to charge like $2000 for.

And funny enough, when he heard the price…

He kept silent for a long while and he later said…

Can I get back to you on this?

And at that point, I knew I have two things to do.

Either I get desperate and start using closing skills on him…

Or I just let him have his way by being nonchalant about it.

And I chose the latter. 

You see, choosing the nonchalant way places you far above a lot of things.

And it also portrays you as someone that really doesn’t care.

Something like…

“If I don’t get this project, another will come and I am not hungry.”

That vibe is crazy and it intimidates prospective clients into hiring you.

Because honestly, no one wants to hire a desperate mofo that will possibly take their money and do shitty works.

And everybody wants to hire a guy that sounds so confident in his skills.

So for now, I am not sure he will get back to me as he said.

But there’s an 80% probability he will come back to negotiate with me.

Or not.

It doesn’t matter because I know my onions and I will get more clients.

And if you notice something for the past few days or even weeks…

My letters have been focused on freelance copywriters yeah?

Exactly. 

That’s because I want to build a community of freelance copywriters.

And business owners will either be on my LinkedIn or Twitter.

That’s the best place to attract people that can afford my services.

Nigerians like pricing people down and I can’t stand for that.
