Someone said something very ridiculous to me last week.

And no, it’s not totally about me.

It’s about someone I like so much.

So when I heard that ridiculous thing, I was not totally surprised though.

Because I am always expecting things like that.

This is why I rarely take rejections personal.

I am a freelancer.

I will get a lot of NOs.

People will reject my offer.

But that doesn’t mean they are rejecting me.

So with this mindset, I just try things out.

And I always expect it to fail or probably reject me.

It’s simple.

Fine, this might sound pessimistic but think about it.

Anticipation is basically what crushes your spirit.

If you keep sending out cold emails or even Upwork job proposals.

Just have it at the back of your mind that you will be rejected.

You will be aired.

So if they eventually air you, you will just see it as norms and move to the next prospective client.

Simple.

Another advantage of this attitude is simple too.

It won’t make you desperate.

If you are on a discovery call with a client, you will be so relaxed because you are expecting whatever they will tell you.

It’s that simple.

And if you are not desperate, you tend to command more fees than people even better than you.

You see those people that are getting clients and jobs well…

It’s not about their skill.

It’s about their spirit.

They never allow it to be crushed and they always pick themselves up every time.

So before you say you are not getting clients in Upwork or any freelancing platforms (I don’t use them though)

Check yourself.

  • How many pitches have you sent?
  • How many meetings have you gotten on with prospective clients?
  • How many NOs have you gotten?
  • Etc.
It’s all about the volume and then doing it right.

And everything is totally dependent on Copywriting.

Yes.

Sending a job proposal? You use Copywriting to stand apart from other

In a meeting with a client? You use Copywriting to layout your words and terms.

And many more.

So in the coming days and probably weeks.

I will solely focus on Copywriting and freelancing tips.

And when I say freelancing tips…

I mean how you can make money with whatever skill you have.

  • Either Copywriting
  • Graphics designing
  • Web designing
  • Etc.
But there’s a clause.

If you don’t take massive actions on them, you won’t get clients.

Simple as ABC.

And like I said earlier, I will be focusing more on these two topics.

Copywriting and Freelancing tips.

Keep your eyes here and my WhatsApp status so you don’t miss anything.

To your success,

Dolapo Hamzat.
