Mummy Happiness Part II

It’s not enough to sell original or quality things.

It’s not even enough to sell what people want.

It’s also very important you know how to relate well with your customers.

And that was why I was so surprised when this happened.

And what exactly happened?

I will tell you in a bit but firstly, let’s go over what happened yesterday.

I started a series yesterday called Mummy Happiness.

And maybe by chance, you saw the first email and you didn’t read it because the subject line isn’t enticing.

But I think you should read it because you need it.

That aside, I talked about who Mummy Happiness is and what she did yesterday.

Do you also remember I talked about a woman that sells the same thing with Mummy Happiness?

Exactly, this letter is solely based on her.

And by chance, let’s give her a name at least.

Mama Star.

So late 2020, I never liked Mummy Happiness for anything.

She only owns a POS stall then but I prefer to go withdraw my money from the junction.

I only withdraw from her when I am stuck.

And I always buy from Mama star who was my all-time customer then.

But you know this saying that:

“A friend in need is a friend indeed.”

That was what happened that day.

But it didn’t happen to me directly, it happened to my friend and flatmate.

He was in a fixed situation where the bank app isn’t working.

Neither is USSD code and man is flat without a penny.

Mummy Happiness went to church and since we buy everything from Mama Star.

Emma decided to stop his bike there and ask her for N100 to pay the bike man.

But one mistake she made was insulting Emma in Yoruba because she believed Emma doesn’t understand Yoruba.

She told the small girl with her to say there’s no change on ground.

And Emma ended up taking the bike to the junction to withdraw for the bike man.

And if you know how far my house is to the junction, you will understand the pain he felt that day.

So he decided never to buy anything from her again.

When he got home, he narrated how everything went to us.

He vowed he’s never going there again.

And you know the effect that had on us?

Simple.

We also stopped going to buy from her.

We preferred to go the far distance to buy our daily needs.

Mainly because mummy Happiness hasn’t opened her shop then.

So when she did, she called us and talk to us as friends.

I sell this and that.

And since you guys always withdraw from me, you have a huge privilege.

And should in case you need a quick 1k, I will be here to give it and you pay later.

Do you see that?

It’s more like she knew the problem we always have and she came to solve it immediately.

Without further talks, I like her immediately and her kids are damn cool.

They are cool to the extent I play with them far well especially when you consider the fact that I hate carrying kids or seeing kids cry.

Nevertheless, the lessons here are obvious right?

You say NO?

Okay, let’s bring it out.

1. Treat your customers well so they can always talk well about you.
Give privilege and incentives to long-lasting customers.

Because these are the same people who will carry your brand voice.

2. Word of mouth marketing is very important.

You saw the way Emma moved us from her Without begging us?

We feel she will do the same for us and we ran before it happened.

3. Always know where your customers are and meet them exactly there.

In mummy happiness case, she knew as students…

Urgent 1k and 2k are inevitable and she came through easily.

That hooked us and unless I leave that place…

I can’t stop buying from her.

It’s that simple.

The goal is to make your buyers addicts and not just mere customers.

And little things matter when it comes to turning mere customers into addicts.

Do these little things and you will see them sing your songs of praise.

And for now, that should end our mummy happiness series unless the Holy Spirit brings another one.

Stay jiggy and smiling.

Life is too short to be depressed.

Do anything you can now because no one knows when it’s all gonna come to an end.

And please, take risks now and you won’t regret it later.

To your success,

Dolapo Hamzat.

P.S:

The almost free email marketing class payment ended yesterday.

Congrats to everybody that paid.

See you in class.
