As a business owner, there are some things you should do always when closing a sale..

Because if you don’t do them, they will come back to hunt you..

They might come back as you paying refunds to people, people talking shit about you and what you sell, etc..

And funny enough…

These things are what we always thought they aren’t necessary..

It’s not compulsory..

Let me leave it.. I don’t have to do it..

And trust me, they can spoil your reputation..

And I will be giving a single example of such things in this mail..

And I will get to it in a minute or two..

But please give me a little excuse so I can talk to you about something else I discovered yesterday..

You see, I have a test this morning..

So I prepared this mail earlier than usual around 2am..

And I have been reading my school books..

Boring as usual so I took a long break after reading for one hour 15mins..

And I got to reading about Charles Bukowski again..

You remember him yeah?

Good…

While reading some articles about him..

I came across one powerful quote or life lesson from him..

And this quote indirectly formed the base of this email..

The quote just spoke my mind easily and here goes…

Bukowski taught both myself and the rest of the world that…

If you’re not going to be a saint, the next best thing is to be honest about not being a saint. 

And, this… this… this is another lesson I’ve learned from Bukowski…

That we don’t have to be anything that we don’t want to be as long as we’re honest about not being this something.

He’s an asshole and he portrayed it to the world.. 

And this brings me back to your selling process..

Always be clear about what your product will do..

Be so so clear as if you are explaining to a primary 3 kid..

Can your product work for a particular set of people and not others?

State it clearly…

Don’t because of money say what your product can’t do…

Like I said earlier, Charles indirectly inspired this email.. 

But something that happened yesterday inspired it directly..

A guy came into my DM..

And he sent this simple writeup that was supposed to make me money but e no workout….

Here goes:

Hey boss,

I wanna get the email marketing Detective..

I see you will teach us how to create a website..

And I want to create an ecom website for my business..

So send me your account details so I can pay sir..

But alas, I declined the payment..

And that’s because of one major thing in his writeup..

Truly, I am teaching how to build a website in the Email Marketing Detective..

But it’s just a basic website..

Not an ecom website..

An ecom website takes more energy and the EMD is not an ecom course..

I just wanted to show how to build your funnel using a website..

And after explaining to him..

He said,

Oh…

Thank you boss..

I need the ecom website class..

So I won’t be getting it..

And I said thank you and have a nice day…

Did I just lose a sale?

Yes.

Can I easily tweak my words to make him even buy?

Yes..

So why didn’t I do it?

Because it will result in stress along the way..

He can even come for a refund…

And to curb that from now, I declined the money..

So, that’s why I always advise you to read my offers and copies well before paying..

I hate stress..
