Dolapo

Something happened yesterday night that actually elevated my spirit.

Even though I didn’t like it, but it still made me smile.

And in a moment, I will tell you what it is.

But one thing you need to be careful of as a freelance copywriter working with any client is…

Agreement.

And when I say Agreement, I mean a written and duly signed agreement.

Otherwise known as a contract.

People are crazy and they are ready to actually cheat you.

They don’t care and they have no human feelings.

Because if they do, why would someone scam a whole human her whole life savings?

Exactly.

They don’t have human feelings and to me, that makes them inhuman.

So your case as a freelancer is the same.

There are some blood-sucking clients out there ready to devour you.

They are ready to stress you and even scam you on top.

And this is where the use of contract comes in.

You need a valid contract between you and your client.

Especially if you are involved in a royalty deal.

(For context, a royalty deal is one that you get paid upfront and you will also be paid some percentage of sales for a particular period as agreed)

And thank God for the Internet, it has been made very easy.

You can draft out a contract document or just an article of the agreement.

Then sign using an app (maybe WPS or so) and then send it to your client to do the same.

Have a copy saved in PDF format with you and tell your client to do the same.

A client that won’t scam you won’t have any problem with that.

They will even gladly do it because you are also obligated to deliver the right work for them.

It’s that simple.

Because the rate at which money hangs on thin air is alarming.

So be very careful and protect yourself in advance.

And this brings me back to what the lady said to me yesterday.

Oh wait, you don’t have to know.

Stop being a pokenoser.

Face your business while I face mine.

And the best business you can face now is to get clients the simple way.

Instead of Upwork and Fiverr where you are paid peanuts for your jobs.

Imagine getting paid $500 for a sales letter you will be paid $75 for on Upwork?

Exactly what will happen if you follow my instructions in the special bonus 2 of my signature program.

I just added the special bonus and I think you should check it out.

Here’s your invite link: Signature Program.

And I can go face my exam for the day.

Have a nice day ahead,

Dolapo Hamzat.
