They just open any news they see and read because they know nobody is trying to sell them anything with news…
And the best type of news people like is..
A BAD NEWS…
People tend to check out bad news very fast because they want to know what’s up..
Let me use an example here..
You are scrolling through Facebook and you saw these two headlines..
Which will you read first?
FULANI HERDSMEN KILLED 100 PEOPLE YESTERDAY IN BORNO STATE AND THIS IS WHAT THE GOVERNOR SAID ABOUT IT
And the next headline is…
THIS BOY GRADUATED FROM UNILORIN WITH A 5.0 CGPA AND HE GOT A RANGE ROVER AS A GIFT
Without lying to me or yourself..
Which of these headlines do you read first?
And can you tell me why you read it first?
Either one you choose is correct…
But one thing I know is..
80% will go for the bad news first..
And this is not even because we like bad or sad news.
It’s just the way human beings are wired..
We tend to react quickly to pain than we react to pleasure..
And that is why..
- A product solving a huge pain sells like crazy..
- A sales copy hammering on pain sells better..
